Will JW.ORG actually harm the WT Society Long Term ?
by flipper inmy son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.
since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.
i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?

Autumn...

i do believe we're entering autumn.

I love Autum too, I feel so much better when we get to fall because I do not like hot weather. I love when the air is crisp and the leaves change.

I was 56 when I woke up after spending 30 years in. I was very angry when I woke up but it is getting less and less. I faded when I first left and three weeks ago I sent in my DA letter. Sending that letter really helped me get some closure.
My husband came out with me and life is pretty good right now. We are doing some traveling and having a great time being free. I don't feel like it destroyed our life because we have picked up the pieces and reinvented ourselves.
We also see a therapist who has helped us to move on.

I've lurked a long time: JW's produce some of the most paranoid humans
by Unlearn ini'll keep this brief for now.. long time lurker (4 years or so).. born-in, elder, used on district level (last talk i gave before i left was the baptisimal talk), and lots of hard time put in...before i finally made the move to split.
it's a long stoy, much like many of yours...but with it's own little interesting twists.
more details in the future, perhaps.. as i said, ive lurked here for a while.. its funny: for a long time i'd only come on late at night.

I missed this post when you first posted to it. It is very interesting and I hope it goes well for you. I woke up and my husband came out with me two years ago. He was an elder for years, 3rd and 4th generation born in and was the head of a department on RBC, many KH Building Committee's along with other positions. He didn't like what he saw so he stepped down. I feel very fortunate he came out with me. I was not a born in but came in 32 years ago.
I finally after fading more than two years ago sent in my DA letter. I couldn't move on without telling them exactly how I felt and I didn't want them to be looking over my shoulder when I decorated the house and did what I want to do.
It is wonderful being free! I have enjoyed your story and I am going to check your other posts.

Eating disorders - advice about someone
by 88JM ini'm sure there are probably a few posters on here that have had experience themselves or had family members with eating disorders.
i'm posting here not for myself, but out of concern for someone else.. there is a teenage (about 16, recently baptized) brother who quite obviously has an eating disorder.
i have personally been at a few gatherings and seen him refuse all food while everyone else was eating, with the excuse that "he wasn't hungry", so i can say it's definitely an eating disorder and not some allergy or just a one-off.. i'm also not the only one who has noticed it - i've been in discussions with a few brothers and sisters who have also remarked on his conditon, but don't seem to know any more about it than i do.

There is also another falsehood about men not getting it. Studies are showing that there are more and more men getting it and it is not just women. Another point is that it is very dangerous because it can shut down vital organs so it is a very serious matter.

Be a true friend to him. He needs a lot of love and understanding right now. People who have eating disorders have issues with control. They can't control everything around them but they can control what goes into their mouth. It is a very serious situation if he is truly does have it.
There is a tell tale sign besides being very thin. Look at his arms and if he has very fine thick hair on his arms then you can bet he is. Your body protects itself by growing the extra hair. I had a couple of friends with it and one eventually took her life. The other friend was the sister who studied with me. I remember when she was going through it at 40 plus years of age which is not the normal, I let our circle of friends know what I suspected. I was doing a dieting program with her and she went too far and I knew what she weighed and what they were saying at the program. When I told our friends they poo pooed it and thought I was over reacting. Eventually it did some damage to her heart.
If you are good friends with his parents I would be inclined to let them know there is help for him. If I was not seeing something as dangerous as this I would want a friend to tell me and not hide it. They can be very good at hiding it by wearing big clothes and other things.
I hope he gets the help he needs.

It is really sad to see how someone can be abused by this process and then want to go back for more abuse. I do understand there are those that can not handle not talking to their families but my goodness do the research and open your eyes to the lies they are telling.
GC what is the point of you being here, I don't see how you can in good consciense report time on here. You are instructed by your "leaders" to not even go on these sites and you surely are not helping us with bible knowledge in any way. You are here to ruffle feathers but all you are doing is showing your true colors. I would never respect you as a "brother" when I was in because of your actions. You sit in judgement of others as if you are perfect but yet you are on here with a group of "apostates"! You are such a hypocrite. I have never told someone on a site what I think of them but you come across as so arrogant. You think it is fun to push people's buttons who have been abused by the WTBT$, this shows your true character and it is nothing to be proud of.

Blown away-- where to go from here
by All for show ini stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.
the thoughts, feelings, and concerns i have had the past few years aren't just mine.
it's global.

Welcome All for Show! My husband was in for 58 years and was a 3rd and 4th generation JW. we came out together two years ago and I would keep reading and researching because it will make everything clear to you once you have done this. If you haven't read Crisis of Consciense I would definitely get a copy and read it.
Your children will thank you one day if you get them out and let them have the freedom to enjoy life without all of the restrictions on education, sports and activities. They are also a great source for you to make new friends.
It is not easy leaving this religion and it is a real roller coaster ride but it is so worth it. Life is so much better when you have the freedom to live life the way you choose without a group of people looking over your shoulders and judging you.

They are so arrogant. They are the smartest, they get a college education by reading their books & magazines, they have the best website, no one preaches but them and the list goes on and on and we know they are full of sh*t!!
